Just a Quick Update!
Just wanted to let you guys know that we are still hard at work banging out features for you guys.
We are currently working on our iPhone version, but we are still planning to have Aisles and Categories + Barcode scanning enhancements available near the end of December / early January!
Our new Aisles and Categories truly make Out of Milk into a powerhouse and we think you guys are going to love it. As we get closer to releasing, we will show you guys some details on what we have done and what you can look forward to getting!
Aisles would be awesome!
Rather than have separate lists by store I would rather have a sortable store field in the lists. Eg I usually buy veges I’m one shop, meat at butchers – but they all go in the fridge so they are in my fridge list.
Aisle could also be handy as a sort field.
Multiple sort fields should not be too hard to include in the app.
Very much looking forward to aisles feature! Keep up the good work!
This will be a very handy feature esp. for those who have spouses or kids who do not know their way around the grocery store. This way they can go to the specific isle to find the item they need. Keep up the good work!!!
Hi,
I’m happy that you’re working on an iPhone-Version because my wife and I have both switched from Android to iPhone 4S and we used OOM very much. Only our tablet will still be an Android – at the moment.
We are Pro-Users and use the synchronization of lists.
My two questions:
Is it possible to synchronize the same lists with iPhone-Version and Android-Version ?
?
My wife and I are using different different accounts for OOM (have paid two times) but we are using only one account for the App-Store – would this be a problem ?
Is it possible to become a beta-tester
Ralf
Love you app and will move to pro version shortly as I just moved to a tablet. Looking forward to your iPhone version so myife can use also. Assuming we can sync lists across platforms?
I love this product. Very easy to use, simple to update price & quantities.
The only thing I would like to see on this app would be a tag that increments for each item as you check it off. Then when you create a new list, you could sort on the tag, and it would order the items the way they are presented to you in the store. Multiple items with the same tag could be ordered alphabetically on the next list, and retagged as you checked them off. This would be used to create the next list. As you used the app it would act like it knew where the items were in the store. Don’t know if this is possible, but i would love to see it.
Would be fantastic if u could implement being able to photograph an image of a product to coincide with a particular item (ie. U know u need cat litter, but being able to bring up an image would allow for much faster retrieving of that particular cat litter than trying to find it via list words, being able to relate to products by colors and shapes makes it faster.
Before using Out of Milk, I would use a spreadsheet and sort by aisle. Now, I put a code before the item (P-Banana) and sort by description. So, I would LOVE an AISLE FEATURE.
Thanks!
Omg I can’t live without this app, lol. I have an android phone, but JUST got an i-pad for Christmas…which has become my new best friend of coarse. The first app I went to download was out of milk and I was like “AGH!” So I pray it will be i-pad friendly =)
I know, I went to find this for the iPad, and no such luck. Although i only use an Android phone, I would love support for this on the iPad.
iPhone version? Now? It wasn’t even mentioned on the Roadmap! I’d rather see the Android version (for paying users) get flushed out with the promised enhancements before Development and Support gets diluted.
Well the “end of December / early January” has came and gone. So has the end of January and early February. Development and Support for Android hasn’t just been diluted, it appears to have ceased (along with communication as to what’s happening).
I hate to be so negative but I thought you would follow the roadmap that was published..
Can’t wait for the new features as well as a version for iPhone. Then I’d be able to have a decent grocery app to sync with everyone in the house! Any ETA on that?
Looking forward to all these enhancements.
How about on the web version the ability to sort shopping lists by name (I use store name)?
Why not just create different lists for different stores? That’s what I do. You can move items from one list to another with the “move” function, or you can just create the lists based on where you put stuff to be purchased.
Love OoM! Really looking forward to aisles as separate field. I have them as prefix to pantry items names, (e.g. ’02a Wholemeal Bread’ : 02 = aisle, then a/b for side) so great for Shopping List but obviously can’t alpha-sort in Pantry. Keep up the good work – and Happy New Year!
“Grocery List>Droid Menu Button>More>Add from history” that is the most frequently used feature in my hands on my phone.
Now, that I’ve popped for the full tilt version I don’t find that feature on the website, is it there?
Help me, please!-)
I like pictures. Please refer to App: Grocery IQ. They provide them for reference to add to your list but it is their only awesome thing OOM needs. This app beats the others I’ve tried for to do lists and groceries by far! Also, if you can possibly keep the pics next to the item, unlike Grocery IQ, wow! Nothing els needed Ever!
I’m an OSX iOS user waiting for OoM to replace reminders – mailing list?
I’ve been using Out of Milk for about a year (maybe a little longer) on my Droid Eris and have loved it from the start! Have different lists for different stores (Costco, WalMart, Safeway, Christmas, Birthday, etc.) Just went to Pro on Kindle Fire and chose auto sync. Synced with my phone immediately. Awesome! Can’t wait to go shopping and use the Pro features. Any chance of being able to scan barcodes on coupons and using them at checkout so I don’t have to remember to take the coupons with me? Now wouldn’t that be the BEST!
Would love to see a “due date” field for items on the to do list where entering a due date can be optional
Love the updates, but come on seriously…release an ipad app already…please!
Great app, I’m happy so see that development has not cease.
The one thing I would love to see is the ability to add items from my history to my list on the website.
Thanks keep up the great work.
I would love to have a field on the pantry list for “best before” or “use by” date and to receive an alert on that date. I currently just add them as a note. Thanks.
On the shopping list, it would be nice if the quantities drop down included “Bag”, “Box”, “Carton”, “Package”, “Dozen”, etc., for things that don’t come in ounces, cups, and gallons, and such. Like, a pound of eggs?
Hurry up with the iPhone version!! I added this app to my Samsung phone, but just got a new iPhone and I miss this app terribly!!!
When will the iPhone version be available ? I have an android, my wife has an iPhone and she LOVES this app; nothing we’ve tried on the iPhone comes close !. Hell we’ll even Beta test it if it helps ! (I’m a software tester by profession)
I love Out of Milk and had just bought the paid version when I upgraded to an iPhone. I was so bummed when I didn’t find it in the app store. After much searching I found an alternative but I can’t wait for Out of Milk to be available for the iPhone!!! Any eta as to when it will be released?
Is it going to be iPhone and iPad?
You could at least give your loyal customers an estimated release date for the iPad/ iPhone version instead of just ignoring everybody’s question?
Any update on the availability of aisle sorting? I’m going back and forth between Pepperplace and OutOfMilk as my hubby wants a list in order of how he moves through the store (when I send it to him instead of doing it myself).
Thx!
Still waiting on aisles. My wife is getting pretty agitated about not having her aisles after we switched to out of milk and I promised her it was coming in January. Oops.
Yet another vote for Aisles.
Could we also have option to print as two columns – to save paper and keep long lists on one page
Would also be useful to have the action buttons eg copy edit down the left side in the pantry lists in a similar fashion to edit on the shopping list.
Means less key presses for big shops.
I just got this app and I loved it from my first barcode scan. Oh this little app has made grocery shopping fun!
I used this app more than any of the others I’ve downloaded. I just switched to a windows phone and realized I can’t get your app. You mention you’re working on it for the Iphones…what about the window phones? Out of Milk is awesome and there isn’t anything out there that can compare.
Love this app!!! I like the idea of isles in stores, but more important (to me at least) is having a build to amount for a product. That way I could set the number of a certain item I want on hand and if the inventory falls below that, it automatically puts it on the shopping list.
Aisles were promised for December …. we are in February!! what happened? I am waiting to buy the upgraded version until I see how they work! Should I move to another application? I like this one!
when can we expect an update of the program. End of december is long ago.
It’s been two months since the last update on the Out of Milk website. Hello? Are you still there? Are you of Out of Money? Out of Touch? We are running Out of Patience!
Seriously, please release the promised Android updates now and get back to work on iPhone after you’ve appeased your current (paying) user base. Or, do you no longer care about the thousands of Android users?
We do care
I would love to see a recipes section, where the pantry is synced with ingredients and automagically sorts what’s running low on the shopping list(s).
Aisles would be awesome. I sort those by custom codes.
Any plans to continue the updates? I see there is no answer to comments and a delay on the promised updates. I’m interested in the pro version, but I’m not willing to pay for it if there will be no more updates (I really miss a field for expire dates)
New “pro” user here. C’mon, now, really. What I’d really like to see is a (seemingly) long overdue response from OoM regarding the apparent increasing impatience of their user-base. A sizable bunch of your users want to know what’s going on. No biggy. Update the blog note, for pete’s sake. Maybe I should’ve read the blog before registering…?
I am waiting aisles and categories to buy a pro vesion.
Still waiting for the Iphone app since I got rid of my piece of garbage droid. Any ideas on how much longer??
Any news on an updated release with aisles? Love your app and own it, this will make it even better! Thanks for listening!
Wondering if you need to list a send to friends option where the friends have the free version? Possibly add from contact list, not to say friends if not upgraded to pro version have all features. My wife has the free version but I would like to send her lists from my registered version.
Okay – I lost my patience. Absolutely no news from the OutOfMilk team, so I feel my money is wasted.
Just installed GroceryGadgets on my Android and on my wifes Iphone. Works like a charm.
Sorry OoM team, but you blew it.
I have to congratulate you folks on doing an excellent job of creating a most useful application; the combination of the Out of Milk app syncing to the desktop via the internet is simply brilliant. I say this with a very long term wide spectrum of computer experience and knowledge, having been in the business for over 50 years.
One area I would like to see added to is the unit-of-measure selection. I suggest the selections for units-of-measure could be more meaningful if they included additional units such as: loaf, doz, can, bottle, bag, box, package, carton, case, and ea. Another option might be to allow the user to edit the units-of-measure list.
Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Is there a way to sort the todo lists on the web site? I know they comes so on the phone….but when you add a list on the website it seems to keep it in added order vs being able to sort them?
thanks Soren fot your recommendation on Grocery Gadgets
I also lost my patience with OoM!!
Does anybody have any other suggestion on a program to replace OoM?
Nice app, the post says an update will be available early Jan, it’s now March, what’s the point posting dates if you are not gonna keep to them?
